| 14/11/2004 19:59:33 | Cambridge 1sts 91, OxfordTwos 68 With less than six minutes to play, Cambridge led by seven, 74 -67. And then went on a 17 - 1 run to finish the game. Point guard JD Ridgeway fouled out in the fourth quarter, and the Twos turned the ball over and struggled to score against the 1-3-1 zone in a crucial three-minute period when the Tabs pull ahead by 13. The closest thing to a complete game yet, the Twos were within grasp of a huge Tabs upset until the final five minutes, leading for awhile in the second quarter. Tom Parker led the Twos with 29 points, and Theo Patsias added a strong inside presence to compliment all-around solid defense. The team continues to make too many mental errors and little mistakes to win against teams that are much bigger and can dominate on the boards. But the team also continues to make big strides and was an ending-spurt away from its first victory. The rematch at home in February will be highly anticipated. |

| 04/11/2004 19:21:21 | East Anglia 95, Oxford Twos 70 For the second away game in a row, half the team arrived just before tip-off and the team was unable to warm-up properly. After playing a lazy EA team even in the first quarter, this lack of preparation showed up big time in the second quarter, when the defense fell apart and mental mistakes caused the Seconds to enter half-time with a twenty-seven point deficit. In the second half, however, the team showed signs of life and for a brief five minute stretch in the fourth quarter, looked like the run-and-gun, full-court press national champions of the year before. The team pulled within 13 during this stretch, before a double technical foul and the ejection of Ryan Jordanhazy slowed down the momentum. Still, the team won its first half of basketball, and just three games into a 35+ game season, that is no small feat. #9 rather inconspicuously racked up 44 points for EA, while the leading scorers for the Twos were JD Ridgeway with 18, John LaRue with 13 and Oliver Morrison with 8. |

| 22/10/2004 00:04:03 | Wolverhampton: 83 Twos: 55 The twos went up to Wolverhampton on Wednesday to face the team they beat to clinch the league last season. Wolverhampton got off to a good start, hitting 3 threes inside the first minute, but the twos came back with some good work from from Tom Parker. Soon, Wolverhapton were back on top, as their new forward Perrin started dominating inside. With a large height and weight advantage he took them to 48-27 lead at half time. The second half was a different story, as the twos worked hard on defence and started playing with some spark. Wolverhampton were gifted a few fast breaks on turnovers, without which the scoreline would have been much closer. Things weren't helped either when Tom and Ryan Jordanhazy fouled out in the 3rd. The twos have the talent to beat this team when they they come to Oxford. All we need is practise, practise, practise. Final scrore: Wolverhampton 83 Twos 55 |

| 14/10/2004 12:01:44 | Oxford Twos: 42 Warwick: 84 A tough start to the season for the Twos yesterday (13/10/04), entertaining Warwick at home. After only one training session on an outdoor court the team were not nearly prepared enough for this encounter, but it did highlight certain aspects that need to be urgently improved upon. In the first quarter both teams were struggling to score, but Warwick stepped it up in the second quarter and started to pull away. With the Twos getting into foul trouble, as Ryan Jordanhazy picked up a technical. In the second half it was more of the same, despite Jordanhazy and Tony Kellems coming alive to hit a few shots before time ran out. In the end it was a heavy defeat, but with some organised training sessions the team can only improve and no doubt become more competitive. Top scorer: Tony Kellems: 9 points |
